Ranma 1/2: Ranma No More Alternate History By: Dani Yanega yanega@mindspring.com (please respond to this e-mail address) Chapter Thirty Seven Since all the light warriors but Anna were staying at a near by hotel they left to get some sleep around three o'clock in the morning. The Takashi's left too, except Nodoka she wishes to stay in her daughters room with Ran Koh, in case there is a repeat of the previous night. The residents of the Nekohanten fear there may be since Ran Koh's stress levels seem fairly high. The night, however, passes quietly, and all attribute that to the presence of Ran Koh's mother. During the night Ryoga sleeps with a smile while he listens to the happy thoughts of Ran Koh, singing repeatedly. {My mother loves me and she is here with me.} Ran Koh giggles and starts again finally her thoughts settle down and she goes into dreamless sleep. The 'Joketsuzoku Village' sleeps soundly, so no one notices the dark figures passing the stealthily past the front window. The two shadows head down an alley to the back of the building. They climb up the fire escape to the roof, looking for an entrance, they find one at the other end of the building. The larger shadow picks the lock and the two shapes enter. They head down the stairs to the first landing they come to, they open the fire door and begin to search the rooms. The smaller shadow waves the larger one to Ran Koh's room. They each soak a cloth with a liquid from a small brown bottle. The bigger shape carelessly tosses it into a nearby trash can. They enter the bedroom each taking one side of the bed, then quickly place the drenched rags over the faces of the two women. The larger man nearly screams out when sharp claws rake his arm. He bats the small kitten into the headboard knocking the breath from it. The two shadows pick up Ran Koh putting her over the smaller shapes shoulder in a fireman's carry. They leave the room with an unconscious Nodoka on the bed and a small kitten mentally screaming bloody murder. The shadows make it back out the fire door quickly and head back up to the roof. They quietly leave shutting the door behind them. When they turn to head back down the fire escape they are met by a wall of five glowing people. The two shadows gulp as they slowly back away. /*\*/*\ Soun and Genma are having a decent dinner at an all night diner near the 'Joketsuzoku Village', after having escaped before Akane came out of her room. They eat enjoying the flavor of the sushi. When both are full they lean in conspiratorially, and begin to talk. "Have you got everything we need Saotome?" Soun asks while looking around for any listeners. "Yeah, right here." He responds holding up a small duffel bag, which clinks. "So what's the plan?" Soun asks with a sardonic grin. "We stake the place out when everyone goes to sleep we sneak in and take what _belongs_ to me!" Genma states with an air of phony righteous indignation. "We then get Akane and head for Tokyo, force them to marry and the Schools are joined! Ah, Akane will do this right?" Genma leans in for confirmation. "Of _course_ she will it's the family _honor_ at stake! *WWWAAAAHHH*, my baby's getting married!" Soun starts to cry and Genma quickly backs away, as the patrons start to stare at the pair. "_Quite_ Tendo, you want to give the plan away!" Genma snarls with a low voice, Soun stops crying instantly. Soun nods then looks at the clock, it is 11:00pm. They leave a small tip and head out. When they get to the 'Joketsuzoku Village' they take a position on top of the building across the street. They settle in with their binoculars, and begin to scan the building. "_Damn_ their still up and it looks like my wife and her family is there too, but I don't see Ranma!" Genma growls in a low whisper. "Don't worry Saotome he'll show, then we grab son-in-law and head for the alter, bwhahaha..glup..oow!" Soun starts laughing when Genma whacks him on the back of the head. "Quite you want them to hear us?" Genma snarls at his friend. They settle in and wait for _Ranma_ to show, while they wait they talk about how nice it will be to retire and let the children work to support them. They'll take exotic vacations, and buy things they always wanted but couldn't get. They both sit glassy eyed staring off into the distance with goofy grins plastered on their faces. They are soon brought back to reality when a commotion starts in the restaurant of the 'Joketsuzoku Village'. They bring up the binoculars and see the women jumping around like crazy. They then see Nodoka straighten up suddenly and the two old women heading for the kitchen. They look at each other confused, when they look back they see the boy Ryoga enter holding something protectively he is then followed by a group of people. Three of which are being helped to chairs. "There! There's Ranma, he has gotten _weak_ staying in that body! Well I'll toughen him up when I get him back!" Genma spits out in disgust. They watch the scenes unfold in front of them, with confused amazement, both checking the time and wondering when they were going to go to bed. Finally around three everyone begins to leave. Genma growls to himself when he notices Nodoka stays with their child. They watch the lights go out on the different levels of the building, when all the lights go out they wait another hour then leave the building and head for the 'Joketsuzoku Village'. /*\*/*\ Akane comes out of her room several hours after her sister left, her eyes red and puffy. She heads down stairs a look of concentration on her face. Her face showing the emotions she is feeling, anger, sadness, guilt, and confusion. [Is Nabiki really afraid of me? Am I really that dangerous to her and other?] She asks herself as she heads to the kitchen. [No, I'm not that bad she's just blowing it all out of proportion, it has to be that Ranma's fault, since _he_ came to town my whole life has been turned upside down!] She rationalizes her blame onto someone else. [I will get even with that sex changing freak if it's the last thing I do, because of him my family is being torn apart piece by piece!] She enters the kitchen and starts preparations for dinner. When she goes to the refrigerator she sees a note addressed to her. She pulls it off and reads it, at first she begins to get angry then she smiles and blushes. She puts the note in her pocket and starts to make something for herself. Akane: Genma and I will not be home for dinner, we have some errands to run we will eat out. Don't wait up we will be back very late, please be ready to take a trip we will be going into Tokyo for a few days. We are sorry to have to miss one of your wonderful meals, but we will make it up to you later. Love your Father Soun /*\*/*\ Ran Koh sleeps peacefully in the arms of her mother. Something she has been missing since she was six. Her dreams are happy ones of playing hide 'n go seek with her mother, going swimming, and play ball. A slight shadow falls over her and her mother, she turns to see what it is, and a large course hand reaches for her and pulls her from her mothers embrace. She struggles to break free crying out for help, a hand covers her mouth and she breathes in a strong chemical smell. This causes Ran Koh's eyes to snap open, for she realizes this is real. She starts to fight off her attacker but it is too late as she has taken too much of the chemicals into her system. She is now trying to fight him off and the drowsiness as well. Ran Koh reaches out with her mind calling for help from those she is linked with telepathically, when she hears her attacker gasp in pain. She looks groggily up and sees Cali claw and bite a badly burned arm. She then sees that arm slam the little cat against the headboard. {CALI!} She mentally screams to her little friend. {POPPA RYOGA HELP US!} She hears Cali scream before she crumbles unconscious to the pillow. Ran Koh succumbs to the chloroform, and is finally silent. The two men lift her and place her over the shoulder of the smaller man's shoulder. It takes a few minutes to get her adjusted to a comfortable position, when the do they leave and head out the way they came in with the prize they were looking for. /*\*/*\ {HELP ME PLEASE, MY FATHER IS TRYING TO KIDNAP ME!} Five sleeping people hear in their minds the scream of one of their own. Four rush to get dressed and head for the 'Joketsuzoku Village' Two males change shape then casts a spell causing the four of them to levitate and fly off in the needed direction. {Meet me on the roof we will stop them there!} They all hear from another, who is already there. Only scant seconds later they land on the roof, waiting for them, glowing a golden white is their new friend, the four take up positions on either side of him and face the door he is watching. They also start to glow, the two on the left glow slivery black while the two on the right glow a coppery red. The five companions watch as the door opens and two men step out one carrying their friend over his shoulder. The man carrying her bangs her head against the door jam but doesn't seem to care. They close the door behind them, laughing that they have won. /*\*/*\ "Alright Tendo, Ranma is ours now lets go get Akane and head for the wedding in Tokyo!" Genma exclaims while putting his hand on Soun's empty shoulder. "Agree Saotome, agree, this time tomorrow our children will be married and the schools will finally be joined!" Soun rants happily. "_If_ you want your schools joined so badly _why_ don't you marry _each other_!" A strong angry voice says from behind them. The men turn and see five glowing figures, five very angry glowing figures. They try to turn and run with their captive. When a bolt of lightening hits the ground in front of them. They stop and start to back up, but they are unable to move. They look down and see a yellowish mist surrounding their feet. When they look up they see to very tall gajin men the one glowing coppery red smiles sardonically at them. "Magic is a wonderful thing, don't you think?" Alex tells them as lightening forms around his hand, Genma and Soun gape, in stunned silence. Soun is brought out of his shocked state when he feels _Ranma_ being lifted from his shoulder. He tries to grab onto her body more tightly, but is unable to get a good hold. The mist has risen higher up and is immobilizing his body as it rises. "SOUN DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY!" Shouts Genma while he watches his _son_ float away from Soun, he lunges trying to grab a hold of her but finds he is unable to move. Ran Koh's limp body glows a light green as it floats to the arms of the tall gajin with silvery black hair. When she is close enough he reaches out and takes her in his arms. He brings her close to him and examines her of injuries. There is only the gash on her forehead from where Soun hit it against the jam. Ryoga is beside them with a look of worry, he watches as Samuel heals the wound, and brings some of the chemicals from her system. She is still too groggy to move. They all turn toward the men, save Samuel who tends to Ran Koh. They surround the immobilized martial artists, with fiery stares. The men try to scream out but the mist has frozen their vocal cords. The four-team leaders circle the men flaring their auras. The door to the roof slams open and the two elders and a woozy Nodoka come through, they stop and stare in awe at the sight before them, they cringe as the scene plays out in front of them. /*\*/*\ Cali slowly wakes and sees that her momma is gone. She lets out an anguished wail. She sees Nodoka laying there and starts to lick her face she pulls back quickly when she smells the chemicals. Cali runs from the room and heads for poppa Ryoga's. When she gets there he is gone too, the little kitten becomes frantic when she dashes out of Ryoga's room. She sees the door across the hall still open from when the strange men came and took her momma. Cali runs into the room and is happy to see the door to the bedroom is open as well. She dashes in and jumps on the sleeping lump claws extended. She lands square on the soft tissue of the lumps behind, causing an instant reaction. Cali barely gets out of the way before the lump get into a sitting position with a scream. "AAGHHHH!" Mas Cra looks around panting, she spies the kitten at the foot of her bed meowing incessantly at her. "Why you little varmint, I'll turn you into cat stew if I..wait how'd did you get in here?" She stops in mid rant when she realizes she had shut both her doors. She suddenly snaps to attention when she feels the massive energy coming from the roof. She gets out of bed and heads out the door only to be met by a worried Ku Lon and stumbling Nodoka. "I felt the energy build up and went to check on Ryoga and Ran Koh their gone I found Nodoka out cold do to this." She tells the other elder while holding up the brown bottle of chloroform. "Well at least you woke up less painfully then I did." Mas Cra tells her, while looking down at the kitten that was still meowing. "What ever is happening is on the roof let's go." The three women and one kitten head to the fire door exit to the roof. They exit the onto the roof and see four of the 'Warriors of the Light' surround to men. They gape in awe of the power the four warriors display. They hear the kitten cry out and run across the roof. Nodoka spots her daughter being held in the arms of the man called Samuel. She staggers over to her child. Ku Lon and Mas Cra watch in fascination as the remaining four warriors punish Ran Koh's father and Soun Tendo. /*\*/*\ Cali and Nodoka reach Samuel who is still holding on to Ran Koh's slowly awakening form. When her eyes flutter open she looks into the deep brown eyes of the Dragon sect leader. She is surprised to see worry and concern there, plus something else which kind of frightens her. "What is wrong with her? What has happen to my baby?" Nodoka asks with worry as she begins to examine her daughter. "She, like you was chloroformed but I think Genma may have used to much to subdue her, plus when Soun..I thing that is the others name, was carrying her out he was careless and unconcerned with her well being. He must have hit her head several times against the doors jams while carrying her out. She had several small lumps and a large gash, which I healed." Nodoka looks at the young man while he stares at her daughter with concern and care, she smiles at the feelings he is displaying. They both turn at the screams coming from behind them and they see Genma and Soun at the mercy of the 'Warriors of the Light' team leaders. Samuel notices that they have a clear view then gets an evil grin, as he watches Alex hit the men with a lightening bolt, Ryoga smash them with a ki blast, Ukyo bashing them with that kick ass spatula of hers, and Taj doing what phoenixes do best using fire. Samuel doesn't want to be left out, so he hollers his warning. "HEADS UP INCOMING! DRAGON ICE!" From where he is sitting he shoots ice shards at the two men. When the ice hits it knocks Soun and Genma off their feet as they are weak from the other attacks. The warriors are about to advance on the downed men when they hear a shout from behind them. They turn and see the two Amazon Elders come forward. With malicious grins across their faces. /*\*/*\ "HOLD WARRIORS!" Ku Lon shouts at the young fighters. "They are beaten for now, allow us to send them home." Mas Cra tells them with an evil chuckle. The warriors were about to protest, but the two Amazons give them a look that says there will be no argument. Alex releases the paralysis spell from them and the Amazons step up. They take their staffs and slip them under the two unconscious men. They then use the staffs to throw the men straight up into the air, as the men descend they use the staffs as baseball bats and swing. With a loud crack of the wood the two Anything Goes Master sore off into the shy heading in the general direction of the Tendo Dojo. Samuel joins the group carrying a now slightly awake Ran Koh, with a Nodoka behind him holding a happy Cali. They all head back in, Ran Koh trying to get Samuel to put her down. "I am fine now I can walk you know!" Ran Koh, snarls but there isn't any anger behind it. "You may think so, but from what I can tell your father used more of the chloroform on you then on your mother so the effects in you are going to take longer to leave." He tells her with an analytical tone. Nodoka follows behind trying to stifle a giggle. Ran Koh looks at her over Samuel's shoulder with a glare that says 'Don't you dare start laughing mom!' The others following behind also trying not to giggle, while Ran Koh tries in vain to get Samuel to let her down.
