Several days later Ryoga finally returns to the Tendo dojo, feeling pity for the stuck martial artist and secretly glad that 1) it wasn't him and 2) she can't marry Akane. He brought her a present to try and snap her out of her depression. He explained he found himself in this old store with lots of old musty books, and scrolls. He was surprised when he found a deck of the Magic Card game that is so popular in America. He purchased the deck and brought it back to Nerima as a sort of peace offering for Ranma.

Ranma looked at the cards with skeptisim but needing a real friend now was more important. She thanked him and took the gift. They were going to the dojo to play the game when Ryoga got lost on the way. Slumped shouldered Ranma took her gift and went to her room.

She decided to learn to play before Ryoga came back so they could have a good game. She opened the deck and cloud of sparkling dust puffs out covering her from head to toe. She coughs a little bit then dumps the cards on her futon. While she reads the instructions she does not notice the top card a Mage (or any magical creature) began to glow. Ranma was so intent on understanding the instructions which to her, did not look like the english she'd been learning. Did not see the dust on her body glowing to match the card.

Akane came upstairs to retrieve her stupid fiancee still not believing their fathers were demanding they get married. She wished the freak would just disappear and leave her alone. She pounded on Ranma's door when she didn't hear a reply she got angry at Ranma for ignoring her. She pounded again and when there was still no reply she slamed the door opened and storms into the room, her aura blazing and mallet ready. Her mallet fell from lifeless fingers in shock. All that was left of her fiancee, was a singed mark of Ranma's bottom on the futon and the present Ryoga had brought for Ranma.

"NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Screamed Akane as she fell to her knees in tears.

Ranma still trying to read the directions did not realize she was no longer in her room. She didn't notice the figure in the shadows, as it stepped forward. It was simiular to the mage from the card of the Magic game.

"The spell has done its job, little one, that parchment will no longer help you!" Ranma turned then dodged as a ball of lighting hit the spot she was just sitting in.

"Who are you and where am I!" Ranma-chan growled her aura blazing around her as she finally noticed she was in a dark forest somewhere.

"Ahh! You will make a fine addition the game! Although there should have been two of you! BWHAHAHAHAHA!" Ranma watched as the mage vanished into the darkness.
